First off, there are many healthy vegans out there and this doesn’t apply to all of them. But in my experience, most vegans aren’t very healthy.

This is because they tend to be very sedentary and don’t exercise much, which is a huge problem in and of itself.

You’ll miss out on tasty foods

You may miss certain foods. Many people go vegan because they want to eat healthier, but not everyone is willing to give up certain foods that they love.

If you have a sweet tooth and can’t resist the taste of chocolate chip cookies or ice cream, then you may find it difficult to give up these foods.

The same goes for other types of foods that you enjoy eating, such as pizza and pasta. While it is possible to make vegan versions of your favorite dishes, it may be hard for you to resist the urge to eat non-vegan food if your friends and family members are eating it in front of you.

It’s expensive

A plant-based diet is often more expensive than animal-based diets because processed foods are typically cheaper than organic produce.

This doesn’t mean that vegans can’t eat on a budget it just takes some planning and creativity.

People often think they need meat to get their daily dose of protein, but there are plenty of other sources like beans, tofu, and nuts. In fact, too much meat can cause health problems like heart disease, stroke, and obesity and it can also shorten the lifespan.

 Vegan cooking involves a lot more chopping, mixing, and blending than most other types of cooking.

Sure, you can make something simple like a salad or sandwich pretty quickly but if you’re planning to cook anything more complicated than that, expect to spend some extra time in the kitchen.

Vegan diets do not provide fat-soluble vitamins A and D.

Some vegans will get vitamin A from beta-carotene in brightly colored fruits and vegetables, but this is converted to vitamin A by the body at a very low rate.

Fat-soluble vitamins are absorbed by the body only when fat is present. Fat-soluble vitamins include proteins, amino acids, minerals, and vitamins A, D, E, and K.

The learning curve can be intimidating

 You need to learn how to cook plant-based foods, how to substitute vegan foods for the things you’re used to eating, and how to make sure your diet is healthy. It’s not something that anyone can just pick up without a lot of effort.

You’ll have a tough time dining out

 It’s challenging enough to find vegetarian restaurants, let alone vegan ones. Even when you do find one that serves something that looks like it’ll work for you, there’s no guarantee that it will actually be vegan.
